Send Electronic Orders

Remote OrdersSalesperson Instructions

Sending electronic orders from a remote field representative to the headquarters office is a relatively simple method. These instructions give you the steps you will need to take to send electronic orders.

  • From WOW, select Electronic Order|Send Electronic Orders from the menu bar. You should see something like this.
  • The first thing you will need to do is to fill in the organization code assigned to you by WOW. We will use WOW1 in our example. You will also need to fill in your user code. In our example, we will use XX for the user code.
  • You will need to select the From Date and the To Date for your order file. Typically this is a 7-day period but you can select any date range of your choosing.
  • After making the above selections, you should see something like this.
  • Of course, your orders will look differently than the ones above but the result should be the same. At this point, you will need to tell WOW if you are choosing a local destination or a remote destination by selecting one of the options.
  • The local destination is the default option. Use this option when you want to send the orders as an email attachment.
  • The remote destination is a specialized option that is requires additional setup by WOW personnel - do not use this option unless you have approval from WOW Software.
  • For this example, we will use the local location. Then, click the Send Orders button. The screen should look something like this:

Click on the OK button. You have created a file of your local orders. In the above example, your file would be called "C:\WOW\ReceivedOrders\WOW1XX.txt". In your individual case, the filename will be different. However, the location of the file will be in the "C:\WOW\ReceivedOrders" folder.

Now that you have create the file, you must send the file as an attachment with your email system. In the above example, you would send the file "C:\WOW\ReceivedOrders\WOW1XX.txt" as an attachment to the coordinator for your office.

Coordinator Instructions

The coordinator will receive all of the attached files from all of the salespersons for a rep principal. The coordinator should save all of the files from all of the email messages from the respective sales personnel in the "C:\WOW\ReceivedOrders" folder. This will consolidate all of the orders in one location.

After the order files are all received by the coordinator, they can be imported into WOW by using the WOW Import program.
