WOW Import Instructions
Download the manufacturer data
To obtain product information you will need to use your browser to go to WWW.WOW-SOFTWARE.COM. Select the Registered User Area and use the username and password you have been provided.
You then will be viewing another screen. Select Authorized Manufacturers. These are the manufacturers that you are authorized to download. If you are missing manufacturers, please let us know by sending us an email at WOW@WOW-SOFTWARE.COM.
You can select all of the manufacturers by using the Select All button at the button or you can pick and choose the manufacturers you want by checking the Dnld box next to each manufacturer.
When the appropriate manufacturers are selected use the Download button on the bottom of the page. This will take you to another screen. There may be some delay while all of the manufacturers are assembled into a single download file.
On the new screen, select Download. You will see a dialog box asking where you want save the file. You should choose the C:\WOW directory. You should receive confirmation that intends to save a file to disk in the C:\WOW directory. The file name should be called username.inf using your username. When the download is complete – you should receive a message that the download has finished. If the download is satisfactory, you should select the link to Update download information. You may stop your browser at this time if you wish.
Import the manufacturer data into WOW
Start WOW.
If you have been instructed that there was a line replacement for a specific manufacturer - go to the manufacturer tab and highlight the row for that manufacturer. Then, hit the delete key on your keyboard. This will delete the manufacturer and the associated products. Repeat this step for each manufacturer that has a line replacement.
From the menu line, Select Tools|Import Product Data.
You will need to identify yourself to WOW by typing in your user name. Then select the Logon button. At this point, WOW will attempt to locate the file you downloaded. If it is successful, the next tab will be highlighted and you will see the import taking place. Please be patient as there may be significant amounts of data to import. You will see progress of this import in the data grid and the list box below it. Please note the expiration dates for each manufacturer. When the expiration date for the manufacturer has occurred, you will need to contact WOW to reauthorize your data.
When the import is complete, you should receive a message. You can close the import dialog box. Go to the manufacturer tab. If necessary, select the Refresh button to see your manufacturers. You can go to the Product tab to see your product data. That’s it ! You can go to the WOW web site to refresh your data or add a new manufacturer as often as you want.
